Satyrium erectum was spotted from the car on a birding visit to the Bontebok National Park! Needless to say I got a little sidetracked
This orchid is a winter rainfall species found on dry sandstone and clay flats. A South African endemic and the pink flowers are perfumed, have dark spots on the petals and form a dense raceme.
