  • The photos posted as first entry for this hybrid flattered to deceive, turning out rather to be those of a misidentified Renanthera vietnamensis. Flower colour, pattern and form were so distinctive in appearance they could not suggest any other species.  Nor would hybridisation easily yield a lookalike. The proposed parentage would not deliver the same/similar distribution of pigmentation, or indeed lateral sepals broader than one notices in the flowers of either Ren. philippinensis or citrina.
